Primary Job Responsibilities Include:
- Providing hands-on care to patients in a variety of settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and mental health facilities.
- Performing routine tasks under the supervision of registered nurses.
- Answering calls for help and determining if additional help is needed.
- Serving meals.
- Feeding patients.
- Bathing and dressing patients.
- Making beds and performing light housekeeping duties in patients’ rooms/homes.
- Assisting with ambulation.
- Providing skin care.
- Observing patient’s physical, mental, and emotional conditions.
- Observing fluid intake and output.
- Reporting abnormal changes or patterns to nurses.
- Reporting violent behaviors.
Position Requirements For STNAs:
- Successful completion and passing of the Ohio State Nursing Assistant program and examination.
- Current Ohio STNA license in good standing with the Nurse Aide Registry.
- Minimum of six (6) months of nursing facility work.
Position Requirements For HHAs:
- Successfully completing 60 hours of training and passing the competency examinations.
- Minimum of one (1) year of providing supervised home health care.
