Primary Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing hands-on care to patients in a variety of settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and mental health facilities.
  • Performing routine tasks under the supervision of registered nurses.
  • Answering calls for help and determining if additional help is needed.
  • Serving meals.
  • Feeding patients.
  • Bathing and dressing patients.
  • Making beds and performing light housekeeping duties in patients’ rooms/homes.
  • Assisting with ambulation.
  • Providing skin care.
  • Observing patient’s physical, mental, and emotional conditions.
  • Observing fluid intake and output.
  • Reporting abnormal changes or patterns to nurses.
  • Reporting violent behaviors.

 

Position Requirements For STNAs:

  • Successful completion and passing of the Ohio State Nursing Assistant program and examination.
  • Current Ohio STNA license in good standing with the Nurse Aide Registry.
  • Minimum of six (6) months of nursing facility work.

 

Position Requirements For HHAs:

  • Successfully completing 60 hours of training and passing the competency examinations.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of providing supervised home health care.
