Position Responsibilities:

Responsibilities of RNs include (but are not limited to):

  • Consulting and coordinating with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Preparing and administering (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV), and recording prescribed medications. Reporting adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse.
  • Recording patients’ medical information, and vital signs.
  • Assessing the patients’ ability to do routine daily tasks.
  • Assisting patients with such basic needs as dressing, eating, and bathing, and encouraging patients to do things for themselves to retain feelings of independence and self-esteem.
  • Recognizing and managing different syndromes such as: cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, urinary, hematological, musculoskeletal, endocrine, neurological, psychiatric/psychosocial, integument, sensory, and pain problems.
  • Preparing equipment and aiding physician during examination and treatment of patient.
  • Facilitating patients’ active participation in all aspects of their own health care.
  • Involving, educating and when appropriate, supervising family/significant others in implementing best practices for patients’ condition.
  • Recording all care information concisely, accurately, and completely in a timely manner, in the appropriate format, and on the appropriate forms.
  • Performing other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program.
  • Current RN license in good standing with the state licensing board.
  • Minimum of one (1) year post-graduate RN experience.
